Almost nothing shows how important it is for Donald Trump to leave the White House soon, other than the way he behaves after defeat. The “alternative facts” have acquired a new dimension.

It applies to all of us. Because there is always something reassuring in the fact that the most powerful man in the world relates to reality. It is said of Donald Trump, and he says it himself, that he hates to lose. It may be true. But it is much more correct to say that he refuses to realize the defeat. The perception of unreality that Trump is now demonstrating underscores how important it is that he lost the election.
But what happens when Trump refusing to be replaced? When do you write, and apparently think, that you have won big, as you last repeated on Tuesday? When does he want to embark on his speaking tour – as if it were still an election campaign – to call his supporters the message that the election has been stolen and that he is the true and legitimate winner of the election, as he has announced? Will you refuse to participate in the rituals of a change of power in America? Will you take Biden and his wife on a tour of their new home? Will you run for president on January 20? Does it have to be removed from the White House? In that case, there will be television images so good that a very media-conscious president will avoid at least the latter, we must believe.
Is on land with Weak institutions and too much personal power on the part of the ruler, that is, in autocracies and dictatorships, that power changes are dangerous and uncertain times. The struggle for power when a Soviet secretary general or an African dictator dies, power changes in armed coups, it does not belong to democracies. Nor does it when a leader refuses to acknowledge defeat. It smells quite a bit of what Trump once in a racist generalization called “shit countries.” Now it smells like the “shit country” of Trump’s America, as historian Anne Applebaum emphasizes.
When Donald Trump Now he’s embarking on a speaking tour, as he puts it, so everyone understands why. The man who refuses to acknowledge the leadership team will throw the lie of a stolen election on the heads of as many Americans as possible. It will organize mass meetings, as it did successfully in the electoral campaign. And he wants to re-emphasize that he does not care about the plague that ravages the country of which he is still president.
More resistance than ever
Opinion polls shows that Trump succeeds in undermining faith in America’s political system. According to opinion polls, 70 percent of Republicans believe the presidential election was stolen by Democrats. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is an important vote that has supported Trump’s legal action against the election result in key states. But most of the top Republicans are sitting on the fence, waiting for the process of counting the remainder of the votes.
One who does not want Supporting such a claim is Trump’s former favorite television channel, Fox. One of the most surprising things about running for office was how Fox openly confronted Trump with the lies he came up with and ultimately took a critical stance on him. President. As Trump now embarks on a crusade for his last, and probably worst, “alternative facts,” it could be crucial that a channel like Fox no longer broadcast Trump’s lies as truth.
Trumpism is hardly dead
That’s the game the soul of the Republican Party is all about. Once again. Because the party lost its soul when it allowed a political clown and media personality to take over and ravage it as if it had become Trump’s personal playground. Now the party has the opportunity to recover its soul and, among other things, to reconnect with reality. The alternative is to join Trump’s kitchen, as a muck-spreader of “alternative facts” about a stolen election, across America.
