In 2016, artist Ed Sheeran (29) made headlines around the world, after it was claimed that Princess Beatrice (32) had injured her face with a ceremonial sword.
According to the tabloid The Sun, the British artist was injured when the princess playfully hit “You’re Beautiful” singer James Blunt (46) at a party.

The alleged sword accident occurred because the princess was unaware that Sheeran was behind her when she brandished the sword, causing the singer to have a visible scar on her cheek.

However, a year later, James Blunt shared his version of the accident in an interview with ShortList. And then a completely different story emerged.
Ed was drunk and joking, and he cut himself. We made up a fantasy story and people followed through with it. It was very embarrassing, Blunt said at the time.

When the journalist asked what part of the history of the sword was made, the 46-year-old woman came up with the following answer:

Was encouraged to lie
Now, however, three years later, new information about the sword accident appears. Ed Sheeran’s manager, Stuart Camp, is a guest on the “Straight Up” podcast, where they discuss the accident that unfolded four years ago.
On the podcast, Camp claims that they were encouraged to lie about what actually happened, according to The Independent.
– I became quite protective of all this because we had never commented on it in public. But someone said, “Oh, you should lie and say it wasn’t her, but someone else.” I said, “We are not going to tell this to anyone,” he explains on the podcast.

Also, Stuart claims that they haven’t heard from Princess Beatrice since the accident. Otherwise, The Independent has tried to elicit a comment from spokespersons for the princess, but has so far been unsuccessful.

Ed Sheeran himself has never commented on the accident, but in 2017, when he visited “The Graham Norton Show,” he was asked about his scar. He then made it clear that he couldn’t talk about it, according to E News.
