On Friday, Drammen Municipal Chief John David Johannessen said there was no need for a court order in Drammen. Since then, infection rates have increased further. In the last 24 hours alone, 35 new people have been infected. Today, the municipality’s presidency called an extraordinary meeting and decided to introduce more infection control orders in Drammen as well.

Since Thursday, Drammen has received 178 new cases of infection and now has 70 clusters of infections. This is what the municipal chief physician, John David Johannessen, told the presidency.

– Now comprehensive measures are needed, he said.

He further said that the infection has grown explosively recently and that it is now important to stop the infection quickly.

Politicians still had many questions for the management of infection control in the municipality. After a long round of discussions on the details of the regulations, the presidency finally agreed to toughen up and introduce a series of infection control orders.

Today, on the streets of Drammen, many of those we meet are happy that stricter restrictions are being introduced in Drammen.

– The buses are full. The nozzles should have been ordered a long time ago. That is the opinion of Marius Simonsen. He does not wear a mask on the street, but says he uses it on the bus if there are many people.

You think the price of a mask is too high.

It should have been free. The municipality should have mailed it home to everyone, Simonsen says.

A little further down the street we meet Anders Holther. He says he always wears a mask when he goes out.

– I’ve been wearing masks since last spring, but look how few there are who use them here in Drammen, says Holther. He believes that Drammen and other municipalities are now introducing a series of precautionary measures and not just recommendations.

– I could have been stricter much earlier, he says.

Also in Trondheim, there was a meeting today with crisis management in the municipality. There it has been announced that a press conference will be held on Wednesday morning.

After the meeting, City Director Morten Wolden said that, first and foremost, they will reinforce internal routines, including in institutions and at meetings and travel activities.

The municipal management is also concerned about the infection of foreign workers, despite the fact that up to 80 percent of foreign aircraft are tested in Værnes.

Politicians are also discussing what to do with public transportation and a possible bandage order.

In Tromsø, the municipality had a press conference today. There they arrived with more information about the contagion situation, after several new cases of contagion in, among other places, schools.

– Now we have reached the point where we have to fine-tune everyone who lives in Tromsø. The infection can be anywhere, Tromsø Mayor Gunnar Wilhelmsen said.

– What we do in the coming weeks will probably have a decisive effect on what the season of Advent and Christmas will be like for all of us. Wash your hands and keep your distance, he added.

The municipality now recommends increased use of home offices and home schools. In addition, the use of a mask is recommended by public transport if a distance of one meter is not possible. There will also be an order for a system to register all guests in restaurants, even those without alcohol service. When it comes to visits to your own home, there is a requirement for a maximum of ten people to visit.
