A new round of series and a new victory for Bodø / Glimt. The superb league leaders increased the gap to second place to 18 points with eleven league rounds to be played.

Scores by Danes Kasper Junker and Philip Zinckernagel secured three points against a Vålerenga who missed the chance.

Everything indicates that it is only a matter of time before the Bodø team can be called league champions.

The question is whether it is only a matter of time before Jens Petter Hauge ceases to be a Bodø / Glimt player. There are clear messages from Italy that AC Milan are a very real candidate to become the 20-year-old’s next club.

Contact between clubs

After the match, Hauge admits that he knows there is a concrete interest in a transfer from the great Italian club.

– I know there is contact. They liked what they saw when we met them and they liked what they saw before. We almost have to see what happens. They play a type of soccer that I might enjoy. It’s an exciting opportunity that one should take seriously and consider, Hauge tells NRK.

According to foreign media, there will be talk of a transfer fee for Hauge of around 4 million euros, or around 45 million crowns. When asked what it takes to disappear before the transfer window closes on October 5, he says that the transfer must be suitable for both Bodø / Glimt and himself.

– If the club is satisfied with the offer it receives and that it is a transition in which I have faith and I feel that I can take the greatest possible step. I want a club where there are good chances to play and a coach who has faith in me as a player and wants to develop me.

At the moment, Hauge does not want to reveal anything about whether the season will end in Bodø or whether a transfer abroad is already taking place.

– It is difficult to answer, I think it can go both ways, says the great talent.

Waiter

Against Vålerenga, Hauge was good in the first half and was a waiter when Kasper Junker scored Glimt’s first goal. Hauge curved Vålerenga’s right-back Christian Borchgrevink and sent the ball in front of the goal to Kasper Junker, who had an easy task on an open goal.

The last of Glimt’s toxic attacking trio, Philip Zinckernagel, doubled the lead after a post from Morten Ågnes Konradsen. Konradsen put up a good game when he scored his first elite league minutes of the season in Glimt’s midfield.

Glimt seemed to want to slow down in the second half, but Hauge still had a chance to decide the match when Junker was awarded a penalty after just two minutes into the round.

However, the penalty was weak and it was easily saved by Kristoffer Klaesson.

– It is bad when the ball does not go to goal, there is nothing more to say. It would have been good to play the game there. Instead, we sent a man and it will be a bit difficult to run a little more than we expected, says Hauge.

Midway through the half, Marius Lode received a direct red card after a poor tackle on Henrik Bjørdal. Thus, Glimt will have to cope without the important midfielder in several games.

Vålerenga had a gigantic chance against ten men, but usually saw clinician Vidar Örn Kjartansson fail with just the goalkeeper, just as he had in the first half.
