Johannes Høsflot Klæbo shares his frustration after being disqualified at kilometer 50 in the WC.

The Norwegian cross-country skier thought he had clinched World Cup gold on the final day of the championship when he raced with Aleksandr Bolshunov and Emil Iversen in the under-five-mile race.

However, Trønder’s dream was shattered after he was disqualified for colliding with Bolshunov who broke pole in the race.

Norway protested both before and after the championship over the jury’s decision, but ultimately chose to withdraw the last protest at Klæbo’s request.

However, it may appear that Klæbo still disagrees with the disqualification.

On Tuesday night, he shared his own recording of the World Cup on his own YouTube channel where he shares that it is quite clear what he means.

It is true that the recording is recorded only about 5 hours after the 50 kilometers in the toilet.

– Surely you have seen that they discarded me. Something that I think is completely sick, says Klæbo in the video clip.

Trønderen says he felt he was in full control of the race, but that Bolshunov pushed him off the track in the race.

– I look at the television images from another angle that I am next to him when he does it. He’s just pushing me. Right now I am quite empty of words. It’s probably the hardest day of my life so far. I really have a hard time figuring out what to do, explains Klæbo.

FIS Critic

At the same time, he takes a hard line against the International Ski Federation (FIS).

– I’m terribly tired of FIS. I think the way they handle things is so bad. I think they make mistakes over and over again and don’t dare to make a decision that is really correct, says Klæbo.

He repeats several times how disappointed he is with the jury’s decision.

– It feels so unfair that I struggle to put it into words.

Klæbo is also quite clear that Bolshunov deliberately tried to expel him.

– He (Bolshunov) is not pointing to the track. He points directly at me because he knows I’m coming from the outside, and when I have more speed and I’m on his side, he starts pushing me. I think it is completely inconceivable. I narrow myself as much as I can. However, it will widen. Then he hits me and then his cane goes away, says Klæbo.

The 24-year-old also says in the video clip that he is considering canceling the World Cup season.

However, he did not and ended the season in Switzerland a week later.

On Tuesday evening, the online newspaper attempted to obtain a comment from the manager and father Haakon Klæbo regarding his son’s posting of the YouTube clip, but has not yet responded to our inquiry.
