– If this continues, then I have no chance, Martin Johnsrud Sundby tells Nettavisen about the injuries.

BEITOSTØLEN (Nettavisen): Hans Christer Holund made it to the top in Sunday’s 15km Classic in Beitostølen.

Holund won with a time of 32.36.20 – 21.2 seconds ahead of Harald Østberg Amundsen in second place and 32 seconds ahead of Sjur Røthe, who finished third.

For Martin Johnsrud Sundby, it was another tough day on the Beitostølen track. The former national team rider has continued to focus on the private team Team Eidissen / BN Bank this season.

On Saturday, Martin Johnsrud Sundby left the stadium without speaking to the press:

– they don’t recognize it

NRK commentators immediately saw that something was not as it should be in Sunday’s race.

– It is not certain that yesterday was skiing, because this does not work. He is not Martin Johnsrud Sundby in his prime. We can only hope that it is not this lap, which has caused a lot of problems in the last year, that has started to joke, Post said.

It was supported by expert commentator Torgeir Bjørn.

– Something is not quite right with Martin here. I don’t recognize Martin in the double dance technique up there. At his best, he may be the best in the world. He wasn’t here, Bjørn said.

– becomes incredibly depressed

When the body did not respond as he wanted, Johnsrud Sundby chose to break the race. So he’s out of action for the opening of the World Cup next weekend in Ruka, Finland.

– It’s the rear that just puts the handbrake on the whole weekend and doesn’t let me go. I’m sticking with 50 percent, so it’s incredibly frustrating. It joins completely, and the blood circulation to the legs and upper body and everything goes to hell. I can’t sit in a hockey position and I can’t assimilate. If this continues, then I have no chance, says Martin Johnsrud Sundby to Nettavisen.

Sundby now fears back problems will end his skiing career.

– I’m incredibly depressed. It’s not the end of the world, but it’s what I train for and what I want to do. I can’t use force and it’s frustrating, says Sundby.
