In Brønnøy municipality in Nordland, all municipal buildings are closed to all activity until further notice, the municipality states on its website.
– We received an infected bump a couple of days ago, the person has also had a large circle of friends. That’s why 300 people are now in quarantine waiting, Mayor Eilif Trælnes tells Dagbladet.
– We do not know where the infection comes from or if it is a mutated virus. Therefore, we are now introducing a total closure of the municipality, he continues.
Boot test
He says that they have now detected six cases of infection this week, and that they are working full time with detecting infections and having all those in quarantine examined.
– All must be tested. We just have to put in what we can to achieve it, says Trælnes.
The mayor says that they do not rule out that there are more cases of contagion.
– We cross our fingers so there are no more, he says.
Urgent meeting
The municipality introduces a bandage order and orders the closure of all businesses except some exempt stores, writes Brønnøysunds Avis.
All schools and kindergartens in Brønnøy will be closed from Friday, March 12. It was approved by the city council on Thursday and the closure will be in effect until March 19.
The municipality today had an extraordinary meeting of the municipal council on the unresolved contagion situation. The meeting took place behind closed doors, for privacy reasons.
Measurements
In a press release, the municipality states that the following measures will be implemented immediately:
- All events outside the home are prohibited, with the exception of funerals and burials.
- It is not allowed to organize sports activities for adults or children.
- Home office mandate for everyone who can.
- The mall and all stores, including liquor stores and gas stations, must be closed with immediate effect. With the exception of: Pharmacies and supermarkets Coop Prix, Coop Mega, Rema 1000, Kiwi, Bunnpris, Chada Asiamat and Spar. Stores that open on Sundays are closed.
- Restaurants / restaurants must be closed with immediate effect until March 15th inclusive at 12pm. Catering is exempt from this.
- Gyms, swimming pools, museums, cinemas, concert halls and public places where cultural, entertainment and leisure activities take place that bring people together must be closed.
- Everyone should avoid home visits and gatherings in their own homes.
- All schools, including upper secondary schools, will be closed from Friday, March 12 through Friday, March 19.
- The kindergartens will be closed until Tuesday, March 16.
- Nozzles should be used indoors outside of your own home. And outdoors if you can’t keep two meters apart.
- All treatments that involve close contact are discontinued. Outside of the doctor’s office.
