A person who was present at the Costume Awards fashion party at the Deichman Library in Oslo on October 14, subsequently tested positive for coronavirus.

This is confirmed by the organizer in an SMS sent to the event participants.

“During the event, the infection control rules were followed. Therefore, we send messages in accordance with the regulations to all participants and employees ”, they write in the SMS.

The organizer, event agency Nova Vista, writes in a press release late Saturday that they have been informed by the infection tracking team that there is a person who has been diagnosed with the infection and that there is no great reason to be concerned. .

– The infection tracking team has stated that this is a person who has been shown to be infected and that there is no great reason to be concerned. In consultation with the Frogner district superintendent, we are asked to encourage those who may experience corona symptoms to stay home and have a low threshold to enroll in testing. We regret this and hope that the infected person is well and that no other guests or employees have been infected, says General Manager Stig Ove Gulbrandsen in the press release.

No close contacts

According to the municipality, the infected person lives in the Frogner district.

– The infected person is a person who was only at the party for an hour and who sat alone and had no close contact with anyone else, says Annette Dey, a communications consultant in the Frogner district of VG.

This means that none of the others at the party should be considered a close contact.

– It has been a prerequisite for Costume to be able to execute the Costume Awards within the framework established by the authorities in relation to infection control. We trust Nova Vista and its evaluations of how the costume awards were conducted in accordance with government guidelines. We support the infection screening that is taking place now and hope that the infected person will have an uncomplicated course of the disease, Costume editor Kine B. Hartz says in the press release.

– I followed strict infection control rules

The organizers have always believed that the event was safe and sound.

– We follow strict infection control rules during the event and therefore send messages in accordance with the regulations to all participants and employees, about 200 people in total, says Gulbrandsen.

Minmote has previously written that the district chief physician in St. Hanshaugen Ingunn Haakerud believes that Wednesday’s award ceremony broke infection control rules.

– In the images it does not appear that the infection control rules have been met, in terms of distance. I’d be surprised if the organizer thought they had it, based on these photos, Haakerud told VG’s MinMote.

This has been rejected by the organizers.

This SMS was sent to the participants in the Costume Awards fashion party on Saturday night.
