Andersen says Norway is at risk of opening a border with Sweden where mortality is on top of the world for those who have been infected.
– We have a completely different development from Sweden. In Norway, there are only between 10 and 40 new cases of infection every day. Andersen says it’s too risky to open there this summer.
Andersen is supported by Ørjan Olsvik, professor at the Institute of Medical Biology at the Arctic University in Norway.
– Sweden does not have border control with other countries, so it is not a country that wants it. We must do what we can to get society back on track, ”he says.
Sweden has chosen a strategy called collective immunity, which occurs when many have become infected and recovered. Norway has chosen a strategy to curb its spread by introducing measures to prevent infection.
Warns against Denmark
The expert adds that traveling to Denmark can have great consequences for Norway because we have different guidelines for quarantine.

Travel to Finland and Iceland
Olsvik has already told TV 2 that the Nordic countries Iceland and Finland are the closest to opening the borders.
– Finland is perhaps my favorite country because of how they handled the outbreak in the initial phase; they isolated the main source of infection, Helsinki, for a period. Finland is the most obvious country to which one should be able to open up, says Olsvik.
– Iceland shouldn’t be a big problem to open either. Their level of infection is almost zero, and they have even opened up to the Faroe Islands and Greenland.
