Granerud was way down after the competition at Bergiselbakken. He was left lying in the goal area and was crushed.

The battle for the outright winner is probably over. The position now looks like this before the last race at Bischofshofen:

1) Kamil Stoch, 809.9 points.

2) Dawid Kubacki, 794.7 poeng.

3) Halvor Egner Granerud, 789.3 points.

– It’s terribly sour and bitter. It was a dirty day, says Granerud.

– What do you think of the summary?

– It looks bad. It really looks like ass. There are many, many points above. That is more than 20 points to Kamil Stoch. Its alot.

According to TV 2, which broadcast the race, there was drama between the first and second rounds.

Granerud jumped last in the first round. But in the second half he had to go downhill already as number two. This led to a frenzy behind the scenes.

According to commentator Kasper Wikestad and expert Andreas Stjernen, Granerud was one of the worst gliders on the first jump.

This caused alarm bells to ring on the Norwegian service team. Lubricator Kenneth Gangnes was by the tower trying to upgrade Granerud’s skis.

The incident was later confirmed by the Norwegian team.

Speed was initially measured at 86.1 kilometers per hour. The leader after the first half, Kamil Stoch, had a comparison of 86.7 kilometers per hour. In the second half, Granerud raised the speed to 86.7 kilometers per hour. This was also one of the worst measurements.

– I met Kenneth (Gangnes) when I climbed from the gondola to the tower, says Granerud.

– Was it the result of poor speed in the first place?

– No, it was the result of the shit you put on your skis when you jump. You get a little more speed when you clean your skis. He moved the “office” from the oil booth to the elevator exit.

– You lie down later. What thoughts did you have then?

– I was lying down and looking at the clouds. That was really. I didn’t think of anything special.

Show jumping week ends at Bischofshofen on Wednesday. It is a hill on which Granerud traditionally thrives best. But as he himself says:

It depends on Stoch.
