To cut a long story: Like other Norwegian tourism companies, Hemsedal players inform newly arrived guests about Norwegian national measures. Before that, all foreigners must present a corona test within 72 hours before crossing a Norwegian border. And document that they have an approved place to live during the ten-day quarantine period. This quarantine is mandatory even if the crowning test is negative. Among the quarantine measures is a ban on going to ski resorts.

60 percent foreigners

Foreign guests typically account for 60 percent of the visit, some 400,000 business guest nights in the winter season through May 1.

40 per cent of each of the foreigners are Danish and Swedish. The last 20 percent of foreign guests at Hemsedal tend to be from the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, and Russia.

– We noticed great interest, both directly and on social media, from people who would like to come here when restrictions are relaxed. Many reservations from foreign guests are still pending. The cancellation limit is 21 days, says general manager Richard Taraldsen of the Hemsedal Tourism Office.

7500 rental beds in Hemsedal are managed by professional reservation. In addition, there are 2,500 private cabins.
