Liverpool secured three new points in the Champions League, but injury problems on defense were exacerbated in the encounter with the Danes.

LIVERPOOL – FC MIDTJYLLAND 2-0:

Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp rested several of his best players early on when Danish Midtjylland was beaten 2-0 in the Champions League at Anfield on Tuesday.

Diogo Jota and substitute Mohamed Salah scored Liverpool’s goal in a match in which the Merseyside team is unlikely to take much more than three points.

Klopp: – The last thing we needed

The Liverpool affiliate attack struggled for a long time to create something against their Danish guests, and in addition, substitute midfielder Fabinho had to leave with a strain injury.

Of course, Jurgen Kloppe really liked it.

– Losing Fabinho was the last thing we needed now. Obviously that is not good. He felt it in hoarding. He said he could keep playing, but he couldn’t run, so he needs to be scanned, Klopp told BT Sports.

However, Klopp believes that Jordan Henderson, who was replaced at halftime, should be ready for this weekend’s meeting with West Ham. It is also full of praise for central Jutland.

– It was a difficult and frantic match. Respect for central Jutland and the press game they brought. They were fantastic and they have my highest respect, Klopp said.

Klopp rasti

Even before three minutes of play, Anders Dreyer was about to surprise the reigning English league champions. However, goalkeeper Alisson Becker stopped the 22-year-old after playing alone.

Liverpool struggled to create something in the first half and after just under half an hour, Fabinho had to throw in the towel after incurring something of a stretch. The Brazilian replacing the injured Virgil van Dijk and Joel Matip, was replaced by the young Rhys James.

Shortly after, Jens Cajuste went hard against Jordan Henderson and earned the Danes’ third yellow card in the 32nd minute. Klopp then reacted violently to FCM coach Brian Priske and the Danes bench, encouraging the aggression the Danes displayed in the duel.

The German addressed Priske, mimicked the Danes’ celebration, and gave a clear message that he was not okay with it.

Mané and Salah have half an hour

Henderson did not come out for the second half and was replaced by Gini Wijnaldum. It is not known whether the Liverpool captain had to leave due to injury.

In the 55th minute, the home side took the lead 1 – 0 when Trent Alexander-Arnold turned the ball over after a cross from the right.

After an hour of play, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mané were also sent to the field, while Takumi Minamino and Divock Origi left. By no means can the duo be said to have taken good care of the rare opportunity they were given to play early on.

In extra time, Salah was honored to put the final score at 2-0 after Paulinho fouled him.

In the second match of Group D, Atalanta and Ajax drew 2-2.
