Blood red level: – – At break point

Thanksgiving weekend is traditionally one of the busiest times of the year for travel in the United States, and last year nearly three million people visited American airports on the Sunday after the celebration.

With the sharp increase in the growth of infection, and more than 100,000 new corona cases 27 days in a row – called on America’s leading infection control experts in the United States to limit travel for fear that it would lead to crowded airports and the subsequent spread of infection.

– The CDC advises against traveling during the Thanksgiving period. It is not a requirement, it is a strong recommendation, Dr. Henry Walke of the CDC’s US infection control center told reporters last week.

However, nearly 1.2 million people visited U.S. airports on Sunday after this year’s November 26 celebration, which is the highest number since the pandemic broke out.

Strong increase in infection

Infection rates have risen across the United States in recent weeks, with 93,238 new cases of infection reported Sunday. More than 274,000 people have lost their lives so far in the pandemic.

Over the next three weeks, another 60,000 Americans could lose their lives as a result of the pandemic, reports the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), according to CNN.

As of Sunday, there were 93,238 coronary heart patients in the country, which is another grim record, according to the channel.

– Deeply concerned

The doctor coordinating the crown’s effort at the White House, Deborah Birx, is concerned about the consequences of the number of Americans traveling during the Thanksgiving celebration this year.

– Now we are deeply concerned about what could happen after Thanksgiving due to the number of cases of infection, he says in an interview with CBS.

She asks everyone who traveled in the last few days to take the covid-19 test and limit social interaction without a mask with the elderly in the risk group.

– If your family traveled, you should assume you are infected and get tested, he says.

Leading America to More Trouble

Anthony Fauci, America’s leading infection control expert, has previously stated that he is concerned that too many trips on Thanksgiving Day could lead to a dangerous spread of the infection.

Fauci said in an interview with CBS that many people at US airports, contrary to recommendations to avoid travel, will lead the United States “into more problems than we already have.”

He noted that a new wave of infections as a result of Thanksgiving will not appear for several weeks, at a time when the situation is already very difficult in the cold winter and during the Christmas celebrations.

It also says that a large proportion of those currently infected are adults between the ages of 40 and 60, as well as elderly and vulnerable.

– At the breaking point

The number of COVID-19 patients treated in U.S. hospitals reached 90,000 on Friday. Over the past month, the number of hospitalized patients has doubled and is now at its highest level yet during the pandemic, according to Reuters. On Sunday, the number of hospitalized, as mentioned, reached another grim milestone.

A further increase in the number of crown admissions could overwhelm the country’s already crowded hospitals.

In the smallest state in the United States, Rhode Island, an alarm sounded and a warning was sent to all residents on Monday.

– Hospitals have reached their capacity as a result of covid-19. Help out by staying home as much as possible for the next two weeks. Work remotely if you can, avoid social gatherings, and challenge yourself. If we all reduce our mobility, we will save lives, was the message from the governor’s office, according to CNN.

– Our healthcare system is literally at a breaking point right now, thanks to covid-19. Hospitals in no way can be prepared for what we are facing now, says Dr. Megan Ranney of Brown University in the United States.

– This is like a natural disaster that affects all 50 states at the same time. There are not enough beds. There are not enough staff. And due to the lack of national preparedness, there are still insufficient supplies, he continues.

Warn before Christmas

In California too, hospitals and healthcare are swarming with corona patients.

– Without drastic measures now, on the first day of Christmas there will be 12% more patients in bed than hospitals can accommodate on average. In Northern California, there will be no room for every third patient, Governor Gavin Newsom warned Monday.

So far, 19,151 corona deaths and 1.2 million infections have been recorded in California.

Vaccine on the way

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo came out Monday to ask state hospitals to move patients to other hospitals that have space.

“We will not relive the nightmare of crowded hospitals,” he told CNN.

For ABC News, Fauci asked Americans to hold out a little longer by limiting crowds, hand washing and bandaging.

Aid, in the form of a vaccine, is on the way and the first doses are expected in the coming weeks, he stressed.
