– Again, there is a dead race between Kiwi and Rema. They are as sticky as the second week in a row, and each item on the ear is priced the same, says Tom Ystaas, head of Enhver.no, which compares food prices across chains each week.
He points out what it was like in previous years when Rema was the price leader in the grocery market.
– They then pulled back and pushed prices further if some of the others lowered prices, says Ystaas, adding:
– No one is moving forward now when Kiwi and Rema are just as cheap, and the competition doesn’t seem so tough. They are now in a stable lateral position.

This week we have checked the prices for a number of simple dinner dishes, including Bagu de Toro soups, Findus fish grenades, Grandiosa pizza and various Fjordland dishes.

– There are stable and regular prices in Fjordland, so there are no particularly good deformations to do at these dinners this week.
However, there is a good deal you can do, and that is to buy a good deal from Synnøve Finden in Meny or from low price chains. In Meny it costs NOK 69.90 and in low price chains the price is NOK 71.20.
– On the other hand, in Spar it costs DKK 105. It is absolutely crazy, he says.
According to Ystaas, the normal price, at least in low price chains, is NOK 89.90. That’s also the price on the Coop Note chain this week.
– The benefits program decides
Although the low-priced Rema and Kiwi chains are very similar in price to all items in this week’s shopping basket, it is more expensive to buy from Coop’s extra low-price chain.
– It is repeated that Extra is not kept up to date. They often have some delays in lowering prices, which is probably why they are a few dollars more expensive, he says.
However, Extra comes out with a total price of NOK 1105.62 in this week’s shopping basket, which is only NOK 5 and 42 øre more expensive than Kiwi and Rema, which has a total price of NOK 1100.20.
– Basically, there is some benefit program that would decide where you could make the best deal, says Ystaas, adding:
– We have to blame technology a bit, because today it is very easy to update prices in all stores in the country, while it took longer before prices fell everywhere.
