The Norwegian with his fifth goal in five games.
Borussia Dortmund 3-0 Schalke 04
What for a long time looked like a goalless derby encounter between Dortmund and Schalke ended with the magic of Erling Braut Haaland and a landslide 3-0 victory.
The deal started as a test of patience for Lucien Favre’s crew against a compact and low Schalke on Saturday. It wasn’t just, just knocking down the blue wall of sacrificed Schalke players, and it took something very special to put a hole in the boil.
Both Thomas Meunier and Mahmoud Dahoud tried the shooting foot in the first half, without success.
It was only in the second half that Dortmund was the recipe for playing in a packed Schalke. A clever corner kick resulted in a goal from midfielder Manuel Akanji, who converted Raphael Guerreiro’s return shot into a goal.
Minutes later, Jadon Sancho found a Haaland in full sprint for the defense of Schalke, and showed that he can also finish with his right foot. The 20-year-old gave the ball gracefully over the visiting team’s last defense.
Mats Hummels prodded the game with his forehead twelve minutes before the end.
Dortmund is thus in third place in the Bundesliga, one point behind Alexander Sørloth’s RB Leipzig and behind rival Bayern Munich on goal difference.

Domesticated return
Although there were not many, the first half offered some occasions. At the end of the fourth game, Jadon Sancho found Haaland in front of the goal and passed the ball to Meunier. His back jingled, but he couldn’t outwit Frederik Rønnow in the Schalke cage.
15 minutes later, Dahoud scooped up the fallen fruit from a Dortmund corner and charged with the mallet. The 24-year-old fired a cannonball from long range that crashed into the crossbar.
Another 54 minutes passed before Dortmund put the ball into the goal after a clever corner variant. Guerreiro combined with Julian Brandt’s heel before the left-back put Rönnow to the test. The Schalke goalkeeper deflected the shot, but the return was marked by Akanji.
Haaland-magi
When Dortmund had a boil hole for the first time, the bull woke up from Jæren. Minutes later, Jadon Sancho sent a nice pass from the outside of the foot through Haaland, who after a touch, put the ball elegantly into the goal.
– Sancho’s timing and the way he hits the best leg to carry it with him is good, but the rest is pure magic and Haaland art, was the verdict of expert commentator Lars Tjærnås.
– The reception / participation and conclusion of Haaland is art, world class and everything in between, wrote TV 2 expert Jesper Mathisen on Twitter.
The Norwegian had a good chance to score his second eight minutes later, but the angle was too steep for the top scorer.
Mats Hummels punctured the game in the 78th minute. The plug crashed into the air at Matija Nastasic and jingled at 3-0 with the forehead from a corner kick.
Haaland is on the list with five goals in the first five games of this year’s German league season, five behind goal machine Robert Lewandowski.
Jærbuen missed the net several times against Schalke, but was able to cheer on three important points.
