The BBC says it will investigate allegations of unethical methods used to secure a controversial 1995 interview with Princess Diana. – A step in the right direction, says her son, Prince William.
According to Sky News, a statement from Kensington Palace states that Prince William welcomes an investigation.

In the interview that was viewed by more than 22 million people in the UK, Diana mentioned her ill marriage to Prince Charles for the first time.
Diana’s brother, Charles Spencer, accused journalist Martin Bashir of showing him false documents to persuade his sister to participate in the interview.

The BBC writes on their own website that they will begin investigating the interview immediately.

Bashir is also accused of paying Diana’s employees to spy on her. He was a little-known journalist when he interviewed Diana, but he has had a successful career ever since.
