Barmen’s score sent Brann to a renewed elite series contract – VG

(Brann 1-1 Sarpsborg) Bergenseren Gaute Vetti seemed to knock Brann down. Then one of the local Bergen team appeared and organized points for Kåre Ingebrigtsen and company.

With two rounds remaining in the series, a lot will go wrong if Brann or Sarpsborg finish in a qualifying spot in the Elite Series. The teams have 32 and 31 points respectively after Sunday’s points split, while the distance to Strømsgodset in the standings is seven and six points.

The farm, on the other hand, has one game left to play, and strange things can still happen in the final rounds.

No party football was delivered in Bergen when the teams barked together. The first part was characterized by two teams with good control of the opponent’s attack. The home team came close to taking the lead, but the guests defended well.

As a general rule, Sarpsborg’s defenders had one leg in the middle, but when Petter Strand loaded the cannon, David Mitov Nilsson had to take action. The shot headed towards the corner, but the Swede reached out and was knocked out to the corner.

The second half was not a casual bonanza either, but seven minutes after the change of ends, Gaute Vetti put a hole in the boil.

Sarpsborg’s only Bergen native fought on the field and had one and two chances to score. The first shot was blocked, on the second chance they got behind Håkon Opdal.

Sarpsborg edged Brann at the table with a win, but the home side had not given up. Brann had had the most ball and pushed for much of the game, and they got the payoff in the end.

Daouda Bamba prepared the ball for Kristoffer Barmen, who surely put the ball into the goal from within 16 meters. The second Bergen boy tonight on the scorers list, this time for the Bergen club.

Brann pushed aggressively during the final minutes of the game. Kåre Ingebrigtsen commanded the players on attack, but they struggled to find their way to goal. Thus, the teams finished with one point each.

In the next round of the series, Brann will go to Kristiansand to meet Start. Sarpsborg receives Sandefjord.
