Just two weeks ago, the Argentine soccer legend was discharged after being admitted to a hospital north of Buenos Aires.
The 60-year-old man has been struggling with addiction to alcohol and drugs for a long time.
Discharge occurred eight days after brain surgery. The operation was successful, but then the former soccer superstar showed signs of alcohol withdrawal.
Maradona turned 60 on October 30 and has a long history of health problems. He has had two heart attacks and liver problems related to alcohol and drug addiction. He has also battled obesity.
Diego Maradona is considered by many to be the greatest soccer player of all time and is perhaps best remembered for leading his Argentina to World Cup gold in 1986.
The quarter-final goals against England, one with “the hand of God” and the other, a world-famous solo foray from his own field, are among the most famous goals in football history.
Maradona’s senior career began at Argentinos Juniors in 1976. Five years later, the journey continued to Boca Juniors, where he played until 1982, when the journey continued to Europe.
After two seasons in Barcelona, the Argentine legend traveled to the Italian Naples, where the legend grew even more.
In 1987 and 1990, Maradona was very central as the southern Italians secured the club’s only two league golds today in front of the noses of the big northern clubs.
After leaving Napoli in 1991, Maradona played for Sevilla, Newell’s Old Boys and Boca Juniors, before retiring in 1997.
The soccer legend tried his luck as a coach but was never as successful on the coaching staff as on the field.
