Amalie Snøløs: – – My faith is not a negative thing

In 2017, Amalie Snøløs (24) became known among Norwegians through “Farmen”. Since then, she has appeared on “Skal vi danse” and has earned a career in the media industry, including as an esports host.

Although she’s been in the limelight for the past three years, Snøløs has been quite reserved. She wants to change that now.

Among other things, he has opened up about his Christian faith, something he did in a video on Instagram.

– I believe in a god who seeks me as a person. God loves us no matter what we do, he says in the video where he answers questions from followers.

Scared by reactions

However, being so open about the Christian faith is something Snøløs hasn’t always taken so lightly. When she was part of “The Farm”, there was also another believer on the farm: Geir Magne Haukås.

Unlike Snøløs, he was very open, which sometimes got on the nerves of the other participants. His faith also received a lot of attention on screen, but in a way that scared Snøløs.

– I thought it was difficult to see how they portrayed him on television, and how much hate he had, how much pain was written about him, that he is an absolutely fantastic man, he tells Dagbladet.

– There was a lot of focus on Geir Magne and the fact that he is a Christian, and I saw how the media turned him into something negative.

Therefore, the 23-year-old says that she took a step back and wanted to hear herself about the extent to which she would speak of her faith in public.

– I thought it was very sad. My faith is not a negative thing, and it is not a negative thing for others, he says.

– God is always there

In the Q&A video, Snøløs talks about, among other things, that she is grateful to believe in a god who loves her no matter what.

– No matter what I do or go through, God always loves me. I can be honest with myself, as I know that I have a God who loves me no matter what I go through, and the only one who can judge me is God. There are no people on earth who can judge me for who I am, he says in the video.

Snøløs also talks about how he practices Christianity, including going to the Hillsong congregation in Oslo. Perhaps the most famous member of the world movement is Canadian artist Justin Bieber (26).

Hillsong originates from the Pentecostal movement and is based, among other things, on the fact that the Bible is the word of God.

– I hope this virus (coronavirus, journal.anm.) Shows us that there are things more important than money and fame. We need to help each other and work together, so that we can help each other in the best way possible, Snøløs said in the March video.

Since then, she has also revealed that she is in a new relationship. However, he has been keeping an eye on who the chosen one is and does not want to comment on his new relationship with Dagbladet, other than:

– I feel great during the day.

She was previously in a relationship with actor Herman Tømmeraas (23), but the two went their separate ways last year. Snøløs has revealed that the new girlfriend is not a public figure, but that they are from the same area and have the same values.

Although she currently wants to keep the relationship private, the 23-year-old says she wants to be a more open person than before.

– I have been a very closed person to be a public person. I want to show more of myself and offer more of myself, among other things by being more on television. But it’s scary to be more open, then you become more vulnerable, he says.
