OBERSTDORF: Norway went through a generational change in the combine. What happened led to success and a lot of gold.

Gives Jarl Magnus Riiber reached the finish line, he was greeted by a trio who had done the hard work in the battle for the World Cup title in team competition.

Espen Bjørnstad, Jørgen Graabak, Y Jens Luraas Oftebro he had done such a good job of keeping Austria and Germany at arm’s length, that the presenter could only sail towards gold.

The quartet showed what lives in them, despite the gang only coming in fourth after the jump.

– Norway has a strong team that will win everything at the World Cup, says sporting director Ivar Stuan.

It could be five gold, because now the women have already taken one and the men two out of four.

But what is the explanation for the Norwegian branch of the parade becoming a sure winner in the championship?

Stuan and others who accompany him are convinced that Jarl Magnus Riiber has a key role.

– We had a generational change when several adult runners gave up, says Stuan.

Think of guys like Magnus Moan, Jan Schmid, and Mikko Kokslien who had won multiple medals in Norway and were about to leave. When Riiber joined the team, something happened.

– Set a new standard in ski jumping. He pushed the others who were there.

This is confirmed by several.

– There is no doubt that this is true, says Magnus Moan.

He’s at the World Cup to work with social media around the team.

– There was a new deal with Jarl, and I experienced that he increased his competence on the ground. You should have a lot of credit for the product we have today.

The coach of the national team, Peder Sandell, puts it this way:

– Jarl came in and set a crazy standard in ski jumping. I was working at Kollenhopp then, but I saw that he broke down a lot of barriers in training. It was something that made the older boys lag behind and stressed out.

This means that Riiber jumped as far as his teammates at a slower speed.

Jørgen Graabak, who has been with us for a long time, thought it was great to bring a hungry child. Trønderen had his maximum experience in cross-country skiing, but he gained new momentum. All four of the team have made their way up, although it is still cross-country skiing that most people master best.

Promise more medals

And despite it all, Norway has a champion team and a gang that work together.

– We look forward to the next exercise on Thursday on the big hill. That’s where we are best, Stuan believes.

Jens Lurås Oftebro, characterized as a winner’s skull, has it there. He also proved in cross-country skiing on Sunday that he could keep strong German Eric Frenzel away.

So what does Jarl Magnus Riiber say despite all the praise he receives?

I would rather talk about the efforts of others on the team. Those who facilitated the resignation.

– What Bjørnstad does in the first stage and crushes the Germans who are already there, it was crude, says Riiber.

However, the boy from Oslo agrees that Norway are a better jumping team than before and that they have a finger in the cake.

– We’ve all pushed each other. That is why today it became gold.

It is part of history that Norway has a good service team that works closely with cross-country skiing and the Olympic Summit.
