Nicolas Cage (56) starred in a new television series about Joseph Maldonado-Passage (57), known as Joe Exotic.

“Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness” has become a massive hit on Netflix after the documentary’s premiere a few weeks ago.

It is now slated for another series, but not documentary this time, and not with the real Joe Exotic on screen.

Instead, a script should be written about the eleven-year-old life of the former tiger breeder, with Nicolas Cage at the center. Report variety.

The title of the new “Tiger King” is not yet known, but the script should be based on an article in Texas Monthly – “Joe Exotic: A Dark Journey Into the World of a Man Who Got Crazy,” written by Leif Reigstad.

Imagine Television Studios and CBS Television will produce the eight-episode series. CBS Studios should have already secured the right to use the item in June last year. Dan Lagana will write the script and will be the main producer.

The project is the second in the series to present plans for a script-based series. Kate McKinnon was supposed to be hired for another series before July of last year. But the first thing that came out was Netflix to secure the documentation, which has taken five years to do.

The Netflix series is about domestication and breeding of big cats at the Joe Exotic Zoo and, to put it mildly, documents the backlash and controversy.

Also central to the documentary is Carole Baskin (58), archrival Joe Exotic, an animal rights advocate and the woman behind the Big Cat Rescue organization. Joe Exotic faces a 22-year prison sentence, convicted of trying to hire a tenant to kill Baskin.
