BEKKESTUA / OSLO (VG) Molde picks up Ola Brynhildsen (21) when his contract with Stabæk expires. Fans don’t like it in Bærum.

The 21-year-old becomes a Molde player on July 1, the club confirms on its websites. He has signed a 2.5-year contract with the champions of the reigning series.

– We have been in Stabæk and have been trying to buy it since December 2018. We are very happy to find Ola. He is a player who fits perfectly into our player logistics, CEO Ole Erik Stavrum of Molde tells VG.

Both Stavrum and general manager Jon Tunold at Stabæk confirm that they have received the photo posted on Twitter of a Judas banner hanging outside what VG has confirmed to be the home of Ola Brynhildsen’s mother.

Mother Iren Kjus, who works at Norwegian Top Soccer, says the banner was hung Monday night and removed in the morning.

– We do not want to comment on this in anything other than that we think it is very unfortunate and sad. It is negative when they throw it so far, but we choose to remove the banner and finish it, Kjus tells VG.

– I think it’s very unfortunate. We distance ourselves from such brands. We believe this is not good at all. I’ve talked to the fan club, and it’s not the ones behind it, but some people who don’t know who they are. It is unfortunate and sad that this affects Ola and the family, Tunold tells VG.

– I don’t understand that he is the culprit. After all, we have tried to pick it up and have been in dialogue with Stabæk for a long time. I think it’s a shame Ola gets mad there. I don’t think he deserves it, Stavrum says.

Ola Brynhildsen trained with Stabæk in Nadderud on Monday morning, but left the field without commenting on the media at the scene. But Captain Andreas Hanche-Olsen commented on the episode with the banner.

– It shows that there is a commitment to the club, so it can be debated if it goes too far. It shows that Ola has made an impression on this club, says Stabæk captain Andreas Hanche-Olsen and continues:

– It’s probably a bit of a stretch to hang a banner at your mother’s house. I don’t think so. I don’t think Ola deserves it.

Head of Stabæk in the throat of infection control experts: – Very unfortunate

Rune Brynhildsen, Ola’s father and advisor, responds to the following:

– I did not hear anyone in Stabæk react negatively when Jesper Isaksen (20) was picked up free from Kristiansund, and he is as old as Ola. Obviously okay recover Cheap or free, and no one reacted when Mats Solheim became a Stabæk player last fall.

– There are few that have been as good at getting cheap or free players like Stabæk. Then it gets weird when they graduate when the contract expires, he adds, Rune Brynhildsen tells VG.

He emphasizes that it is the behavior of the fans to which he responds. The club has handled it well, he believes.

– The club is opposed in principle to the fact that young and self-developed players leave without leaving money. But Stabæk has had a chance to sell it in three windows, so the club bears some of the responsibility, even when it now only receives educational compensation here. Stabæk has chosen to play his game, says Brynhildsen, noting that Stabæk could get millions for his son.

Stabæk sporting director Torgeir Bjarmann was asked about Brynhildsen when he was hired on April 16.

– As a profile of Stabæk and a young player, he is, after all, a player that I, as a sports coach, wanted to continue. When he starts working, we’ll see if there is any way to resolve this situation with him, Bjarmann replied.

It turned out not to be possible. CEO Tunold says he has known for “a couple of weeks” that Brynhildsen did not want to extend the contract with Stabæk.

“But now signing for Molde, I only read in the newspaper now,” says the head of Stabæk on Monday morning.
