Geoff Keighley, known as an avid Hideo Kojima fan and host of The Game Awards, left the weekend fuzzy Summer Game Fest. The show offers a four-month celebration of the gaming industry, where fans can expect gaming news and experiences.
Earlier this year, it was clear that there will be no E3 show this year, and as Keighely says it would have been a shame if 2020 were to disappear without any “magic big moment for the entire gaming industry.”
That is why he decided to start the Summer Game Fest, which runs from May to August. Keighley points out that this is not a big show, but a series of smaller events.
– That’s all the news you’ve been waiting for, but also in-game events, playable content and demos from select games, as well as tons of fun surprises, Keighley promises.
On Twitter, the organizer shared a selection of companies that agreed to participate, and orIf you didn’t know better, you’d almost think it’s a list of E3’s heyday.
Here we find PlayStation, Xbox, EA and Activision, which have largely withdrawn from the show in recent years. Also in attendance were CD Projekt RED, Bethesda, Steam, and Square Enix, as well as Warner Brothers, who may finally have thought of sharing news about a certain black-clad hero.
The Summer Game Fest program is not yet ready. but the details will likely be published on the festival website shortly.
