The former top scorer also believes that Harry Kane may end up making the same choice as himself.
Dimitar Berbatov (39) has no doubt that Alex Ferguson had unique leadership skills as a manager. He believes that his former boss had a good influence on completely different players and personalities in Manchester United’s numbers.
Berbatov also believes that England captain Harry Kane (26) can follow in his footsteps and change clubs from Tottenham to Manchester United.
This is what the former top scorer in the Premier League says on the BBC Football Daily podcast.

Ferguson tribute
There, Berbatov also talks about the reputation he gained for being a “lazy” player, noting that he faced many of the most powerful players by thinking more carefully about his choices on the field.
The Bulgarian notes that even Ferguson did not ask him to change his playing style.
– Sir Alex was fantastic to everyone. He was aware of how to relate to all the players individually. You have to be nice to some, and others to be difficult. I knew how to do it there.
– He didn’t even try to tell me he had to change. That was a good thing. He trusted me in his own way, Berbatov points out.
The right-hander played two seasons for Tottenham and contributed 27 league goals in a total of 70 games. In total, he represented 46 scores in all tournaments, spread over two years, where he finished as the club’s top scorer in both seasons.
The last Premier League appearance for the Lily Whites occurred in August 2008, replacing Middlesbrough at the Spurs season three league premiere.

Berbatov replaced Giovani dos Santos on the score 0-0, but Tottenham ended up losing 1-2. Two weeks later he was sold to Manchester United on the last day of the transfer window.
Looks like kane
In recent months, there has been increasing speculation that current Spurs top scorer Harry Kane could also be leaving the club.
Manchester United has been cited by various means as a possible next stop for the England captain.
Although he believes that the financial consequences of the corona virus are against a transition now, Berbatov sees clear similarities with his own situation in Tottenham almost twelve years ago.
– It can be difficult now due to the corona virus and money, but Harry Kane is in exactly the same situation as me. Sometimes it may not be in the right place inside your head.
– Sometimes my head wasn’t in the right place either. How can that be? After all, I don’t want to put my team in a situation where it disappears late in the transition window and leaves without a replacement. But this is going to happen many times after my time, with many players, says Berbatov.
Drought title
The 39-year-old also notes that the Spurs have not won titles since he and BBC expert Jermaine Jenas helped win the league final against Chelsea in the spring of 2008.
– It will be pointed out over and over again, and people will be condemned that lack of trophies is the main problem for players like Kane. He is the captain of England and does not grow younger over the years. But as he grows older, he would like to be able to say “look what I’ve earned” to his children, says the former Tottenham striker.
Berbatov played four years at Manchester United from 2008 to 2012. In 2010-2011, he shared the title of Premier League top scorer with Carlos Tevez of Manchester City, before continuing to stay in Fulham, Monaco and Greek PAOK.
He also shares the status of Bulgaria’s top scorer with Hristo Bonev. Both ended with 48 goals for the national team. Berbatov ended his career with nine games.
