The suspect behind the doping network has drawn several new people to the case.

Sports doctor Mark Schmidt is said to have named several key people in the doping ring that was revealed after last year’s Ski World Cup.

It appears in the material that the German television channel ARD presented on Saturday. Its reporters have seen court documents that identify a former Austrian coach in the background and a Croatian track and field coach.

The documents must not originate in a judicial process in Germany. ARD has been a leader in case coverage from day one.

Schmidt was arrested in March last year and is charged. Two Austrian cross-country skiers, Max Hauke ​​and Domini Baldauf, have been sentenced to probation for their involvement in the case.

Former cross-country skier and broadcaster Johannes Dürr is another Austrian who has been sentenced to prison. He was arrested for doping as early as 2014 at the Sochi Olympics.

Other athletes are banned from sport for prolonged periods.

This includes the cross-country profile of Kazakhstan Aleksej Poltoranin and the two lesser-known Estonians Karel Tammjärv and Andreas Veerpalu

According to German rules, the doctor is not appointed by the tax authority, but after the police actions during the World Ski Championships in Seefeld it was revealed that he was Schmidt in Erfurt.

Along with four “helpers”, he is accused of various points for having organized the doping of athletes in various sports, including cycling and various winter sports.

The Seefeld World Cup scandal was affected when police and doping hunters raided the Austrian hotel. There, they found a runner who was in the process of adding his own blood to improve oxygen absorption.
