Apple’s new iPhone SE is a Cube 7 mobile.
There are two ways to view the new iPhone SE.
1. It is the very embodiment of laziness. Apple has not even tried to do anything new. They took the three-year-old iPhone 8 phone, based on a six-year-old design, and brought it out as a novelty. That means rolling dice 1.

2. This is the best news for iPhone. That means rolling dice 6.
And when it is true to say: it is combination of these two extremes that make us believe that the new iPhone SE deserves to be Apple’s new best seller.

An updated bestseller
The new iPhone SE is for all practical purposes an iPhone 8, with some updates and a lower price.
Apple has tried this with cheaper mobile devices in the past. The first iPhone SE was not a verse, but for me the “cheap mobile” iPhone Xr never made sense. It was too expensive a phone, with too poor characteristics, to defend its presence. It was simply a “worst iPhone”, not a “reasonable iPhone”.

There was no obvious target audience. If you had to save money, the smart choice has always been to go for the iPhone 7 or 8. The two models are almost identical, with the processor and wireless charging being the most obvious difference.
There are many frames in the new iPhone SE, but otherwise the same user experience.
The iPhone 8 has been a best seller for a long time. In the Christmas trade, Telenor sold more iPhone 8s than any other Samsung model, and is still on the Telenor and Telia bestseller lists.
You don’t have to be a genius to understand that Apple’s top models have become too expensive and a cheaper alternative has been needed.
Plus: The iPhone 8 was the best Apple managed to do its original iPhone concept, before they changed much with the iPhone X. That means it’s just a very good phone based on something that people are used to.
Biggest news: the world’s fastest mobile processor
But selling such a mobile device year after year has some major drawbacks, and the biggest ones are processor-related – this is the brain of the mobile device, which is updated on every generation of iPhone.
To produce the iPhone 8, Apple must continue to produce an older processor (A11), in addition to the newer generations (A13). It is an economic and logistical advantage to keep the complexity of the product range as low as possible.
The first point will probably give you the fin, but the second point is important:
Apple constantly updates the software and iOS becomes more and more complicated. At regular intervals, they say older products will no longer receive updates, and this is determined by the processor they use.

By replacing the processor in the iPhone 8, Apple ensures that a product that customers want can live, while reducing Apple’s costs. Therefore, the new iPhone SE has the same processor as the company’s main models, which is the fastest on the market.
As someone simply put it: Buying a cheap mobile phone is not just about the price, but how often you have to pay the price. And the iPhone SE should last as long as the iPhone 11 Pro.

Camera skin can be misleading.
Apple abruptly refuses to say anything about what they have done with the camera purely physically. This generally means that there is nothing new to report. The specs are identical to those of the iPhone 7 and 8: a 12-megapixel wide-angle camera with f1.8 brightness.
Unfortunately, we didn’t have an iPhone 8 to compare directly with, but compared to the iPhone 7, it’s pure victory. A camera is not just about optics, but at least as much about how the information captured by the camera is processed.
With the faster processor, there is no doubt that the images we extract from the iPhone SE handle much better contrasts.

Everyone who has used a newer iPhone has seen that the image quality gets a marked “jump” a few seconds after taking a photo. This ends with iPhone SE, but not iPhone 8. You also get portrait mode, which blurs the background.
It is true that this is not the best camera on the market. Compared to the iPhone 11 Pro, it fails, and most of all we miss the night mode.

But as long as the light is good enough, the phone will take pictures good enough.
You get what you want from an iPhone
The most important thing about the new iPhone SE is that it is an Apple mobile. It sounds a bit silly, but there are many who don’t care if the phone is a little better or worse than the Android options:
People like the iPhone. They should have an iPhone. They are already immersed in the Apple ecosystem. They must have AppStore, iMessage, AirDrop and FaceTime, and not least: their image archive. And for these customers, the iPhone SE is an obvious choice.

My wife is a classic example, she won’t even use the new Apple models without a start button. Usually, he uses an iPhone 7 and is therefore in the middle of the mobile audience.
We cloned the old cell phone, put it on the same cover it had before, and after four days, this was the comment:

That is the best deal for Apple.
