– This will be so even, although I think Kraft will accept it, Christian Nilssen said after Kraft landed last in jump of the competition.

The Austrian won the jumping race with 4.4 points over Robert Johansson.

– It is an excellent and sensational achievement, says Alexander Stöckl about the student’s silver.

However, he was dramatically close to the start of the jumping race. Earlier this week, Halvor Granerud was diagnosed with the coronavirus, and just two hours before the start, there was great uncertainty about Robert Johansson’s health, as he had a headache.

– I felt a bit of that today. It is probably due to lack of sleep. I went straight to do the test. I received an answer before we went to the ground, and there the answer was negative, says the silver winner.

Johansson tested himself to be careful, he further explains.

– It’s a bit that if you feel something like that, even if you have had 72 hours with little rest, you will still see it so as not to put others or me at risk, he says.

– You have used a lot of energy

Stöckl also confirms the incident.

– He has been unwell the last few days and has struggled with headaches. The fact that it is delivered under those circumstances is great.

The silver winner explains that the headache has sapped his energy.

– I manage to stay focused. I’m very happy with that. I have expended a lot of energy, but I have to send a thank you to my boyfriend who listens to me when I have to draw thoughts, he says.

Earlier this week, World Cup leader and Norway’s great jumping star Halvor Granerud was diagnosed with the coronavirus.

– What does it mean after hard days?

– It means an incredible amount. It is a silver medal that tastes a little gold. It’s incredibly nice to see this band get what they deserve, says Clas Brede Bråthen.

The NRK expert is also impressed with the performance.

– In the jump, you can mobilize for the two jumps that you have to deliver, but there has been no favorable load for the Norwegians if they find it difficult to sleep in the afternoon and they have been nervous. But the most impressive thing about Robert is getting the two jumps he gets today, says NRK expert Remen Evensen.

Performed in difficult conditions

The ski jump from the great Oberstdorf hill was characterized by large snowdrifts that settled on the ground and the piste. The organizer actively used the leaf blowers among the jumpers on the runway, and on the ground, the skis almost buried themselves in the snow during the landing.

– What a wheelbarrow it was! Several falls, I thought they would stop running midway through second half due to a lot of snow and more that fell It can quickly be a back fracture, Anders Jacobsen of the NRK study said.

Different wind conditions contributed to the unpredictable jump.

It became especially clear on Robert Johansson’s first jump. He landed at 129.5 meters, which was nowhere near the length of leader Stefan Kraft.

– Unfortunately, it went down a bit too early, said Christian Nilssen just after the jump.

But it quickly turned out that conditions for the Norwegian had been miserable, and with the extra points he scored, he moved into second place, just over five points behind the Austrian.

– Robert has a somewhat demanding relationship. He received little compensation for the conditions, and it’s almost an advantage when he makes such a good jump, jumpers coach Alexander Stöckl said at halftime.

In the heats, Johann André Forfang was the longest on the ground, but in the competition itself he dropped a few meters to 128.5 meters in the first half. He entered the place of Halvor Granerud as the World Cup leader was diagnosed with the coronavirus and had to watch the jump from the hotel room.
