On Monday night, Sandnes, Stavanger, Sola and Randaberg agreed on new local guidelines to curb the infection situation. This means, among other things, that swimming pools, gyms and sports centers will be closed.

It’s only been a few days since the four mayors of Nord-Jæren last introduced local coronary restrictions. On Monday, January 4, new measures were taken to reduce the pressure of the infection. Stavanger Mayor Kari Nessa Nordtun (Labor Party), Sandnes Mayor Stanley Wirak (Labor Party), Sola Mayor Tom Henning Slethei (Frp) and Randaberg Mayor Jarle Bø (Sp) sent a statement set press on Monday night where they explain the new rules.

The regulation enters into force on January 5, 2021 at 00.00, and is valid until January 18, 2021 at 24.00.

The new rules include:

Prohibition of sports and leisure activities: All indoor sports and leisure activities are put on hold. The ban on matches, conventions, sporting events and the like will be maintained for all age groups.

– Now it’s about breaking the wave of infection. Then we must all agree on the measures and suspend activities for two weeks, says Sola Mayor Tom Henning Slethei.

It is emphasized that the ban does not apply to the best sports as long as a separate infection control protocol is followed for the best sports. Schooling in sports facilities is also allowed during the day.

More businesses need to close: All gyms, bingo halls, game rooms, bowling alleys, pool halls, and entertainment facilities like water parks and play areas will now be closed.

– In Rogaland, 12 of the 23 municipalities now have more than 20 cases of infection per 100,000 inhabitants. So there are every possible reason to use strong instruments, says Randaberg Mayor Jarle Bø.

Event restrictions: The ban on events with more than 20 participants will continue in Nord-Jæren. The ban does not apply to outdoor events with fixed seating. These can still have 200 participants. Up to 50 can be collected for burial.

Catering locations: The government introduced a national ban on serving alcohol at restaurants and events. The municipality of Nord-Jæren will continue to require registration of guests in restaurants and restaurants.

Avoid unnecessary trips: Local recommendations are maintained to avoid the use of public transport. It also requires the use of a mask if you still have to travel by bus, scheduled boat, train, or taxi.

Stavanger and the other municipalities in Nord-Jæren introduced local measures as of December 31, 2020. The government introduced new national infection control measures on Sunday, and on Monday evening Randaberg, Sandnes, Sola and Stavanger agreed to a regulation revised that will apply until January 18.

– The contagion situation in the municipalities does not indicate that there are reasons to relax any of the rules. On the contrary, say the four mayors in the press release.

In Stavanger Municipality, new visiting rules for nursing homes are also being introduced. Visiting hours are limited to the time period at 17.00-19.00. The number of visitors per resident is limited to 1-2 permanent people. This rule only applies in the municipality of Stavanger.
