The goalkeeper, best known for the emergency national team’s 1-1 game against Austria in Vienna, signed for FC Groningen on Thursday. This is confirmed by the Dutch on their own websites.

He arrived in the Netherlands on Wednesday, successfully completed the medical check-up and has signed a contract with the club, which ranks sixth in the Eredivisie.

Sports director Bo Andersson in Djurgården confirms to VG that the club has agreed with Groningen on a loan from Bråtveit until the summer. So Groningen has secured an option to buy the Norwegian permanently.

– He traveled on Wednesday to complete the medical check-up. We agree with the club. So it’s up to him to agree on personal terms, Andersson told VG early Thursday.

Bråtveit has finished in recent months in the cold in Djurgården, where he has been the second option in the goalkeeper position. Recently, he made it clear that he wanted to switch pastures.

In Groningen he becomes teammates with his emergency partner Jørgen Strand Larsen. The two Norwegians share the same agent: Tore Pedersen.
