– That’s the biggest you can win on the club side. It’s something I’ve been dreaming about since I was little. I have admired many who have won the Champions League before. Winning at 25 means a lot. It’s a bit like drugs, once you have a degree, you feel the need to do more and more. It may sound bad to say it like that, but you just want to win and win again. I’m really looking forward to January. I want to win another title there, Sagosen tells VG the next day.
The players came home from Cologne to Kiel during the afternoon / evening, and although there was no large-scale celebration with fans in Kiel, he says it was a “fantastic night”.
– It is not the night of my life in which I have slept the most, but it should be missing. I am incredibly proud and happy today. It’s clear that it’s a good morning to wake up, he says.

Sagosen was absolutely central for the German team, with seven goals, including two important ones when Kiel decided the match with just over five minutes to go.
– Like I say all the time, I have extreme faith in my abilities and what I’m good at. If I get the chance, I take it every time, regardless of whether it’s been one minute or 59 minutes. I have to take advantage of the opportunities that I think are good, so I will try to go in to score goals. This is how handball games are won, says Sagosen.
Together with his teammate Harald Reinkind, the club with the Norwegian Champions League winners on the men’s handball side has now been expanded from one to three. The first, Børge Lund – also for Kiel against Barcelona, back in 2010 – told VG after the game that “it was time”.
– It absolutely is. Børge often deserves to be left alone, but here we had to put myself and Harald on the list. Not many people have been able to experience winning the Champions League. Now we are three Norwegians, and that says something about how special and great this really is. I’m very happy on a day like this, says Sagosen of Lund’s statement.
