The same applies, for example, if you have an iPad 2, which came with iOS 4, but can actually also be updated to version 9.
Also, older Android phones with an Android version lower than 4.0.3 will be excluded. If you are not sure which version of the operating system you have, it will find it if you open it settings, scrolls down to «On the phone» and he finds out android version on the next screen. By the way, Android 4 arrived in 2011, so this limitation will probably be a problem for very few.
