Ole Gunnar’s former teammate Solskjær asks the Norwegian to think carefully about the hectic Premier League Christmas program.
Manchester United secured a place in the Carabao Cup semi-finals after an away win against Everton on Wednesday night. Two late goals from Edinson Cavani and Anthony Martial ensured Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s men continued their fine form.
After leaving the Champions League, Manchester United have recovered and found their way into the national league and cup.
In Wednesday’s game at Goodison Park, Solskjær decided to save several important players, but key players Bruno Fernandes, Paul Pogba and Harry Maguire played a total of 90 minutes, as the team entered the highly eventful Christmas program.
United legend Gary Neville, who is now an expert on Sky Sports, praised the team’s efforts and confidence after the game. He was impressed with the appearance of the red dress despite the nine team changes from the previous game.
Still, it comes with a warning to Solskjær before the next matches. Neville points out two names in particular that the Norwegian cannot afford to rest on in the future.
– They are the two irreplaceable players. Without Fernandes, they are not close, they are far away, he is a vital part, Neville tells the Sky Sports podcast after the game.

Gary Neville: – Strange to see where Manchester United is at the table
He continues:
– My instinct is that they would miss Maguire very much too. I know people say that he’s not the best midfielder in the league and that he hasn’t done particularly well for £ 80 million, but he has a good presence in the heart of defense. He is good with the ball and in the air. You don’t make many mistakes. Sometimes they take him with the left foot, but he is a very good midfielder. He and Fernandes cannot rest in the future, he says.
Manchester United started the game better against Everton, but did not count until Cavani scored 1-0 after 88 minutes. In extra time, Martial punctured the game.
Already early on the 2nd of Christmas, Solskjær takes the team with him and travels to Leicester for a tough away game, against the neighbor at the table who is one point ahead of them on the table.
Then Wolverhampton waits three days later before the team is visited by Aston Villa on January 1.
Neville is clear that the Fernandes and Maguire duo cannot rest a minute before the Premier League takes a couple of weeks off in early January.
– Those two. I’m not sure they can get a break at this point, because sadly, Ole can’t afford to lose a game, says Neville.
