Henrik Kristoffersen won the spotlight race at Madonna di Campiglio, and that’s after being number twelve after the first round. Sebastian Foss Solevåg secured two Norwegians in the first two places.
Kristoffersen drove a brilliant last lap as he secured victory in Tuesday’s slalom race.
The Norwegian slid down the track towards a clear best time, and was finally able to cheer on his third slalom winner at Madonna di Campiglio, after also winning on the tracks in 2015 and 2016.

– The last three weeks have been tough. I don’t think I’ve ever been so excited for a win before, says an excited Kristoffersen after the achievement.
One by one, Kristoffersen could see finish behind him on the results list, before Foss Solevåg, who was leading after the first round, also had to be beaten. However, he got the Norwegian double as he crossed the finish line, 33 hundredths behind Kristoffersen.
– It’s just a matter of taking your hat off by Henrik Kristoffersen. He really showed what lives in him in the second round. But Sebastian also offers fantastic competition, says Kjetil André Aamodt.
Alex Vinatzer from Italy was third, just one hundredth behind Foss Solevåg.

Before the second round, Foss Solevåg had a clear 40-cent lead behind Ramon Zenhaeusern, while Kristoffersen was 1.25 seconds behind his compatriot.
– Oh my! Sebastian Foss-Solevåg has surpassed the world elite here, Aamodt said after his driving at the time.
The other Norwegians did not have an equally good Norwegian day in Italy.
Timon Haugan ranked 24th, while Leif Nestvold-Haugen finished 27th.
Atle Lie McGrath and Jonathan Nordbotten withdrew, and Lucas Braathen failed to qualify for the final round.
