Many had longed for a Premier League clash between Manchester United and Leeds United. The two rivals had not met in the league since 2004.
It was far from a pleasant return to Old Trafford for Marcelo Bielsa’s men.
In the end, they lost 2-6, and especially the defensive game went ahead. Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær, on the other hand, was naturally very satisfied:

Manchester United climb to third place in the table after Sunday’s victory. Up to league leader Liverpool there are five points.
Leeds United is 14th.
Scorer McTominay was faced with the fact that Manchester United is now in third place, but did not want to know anything about it:

Canyon start
The deal started with Manchester United shocking and scoring two goals in the first three minutes. Scott McTominay scored both. It is not known if it is two goals so fast or two goals from the midfielder who gives the highest odds, but both have a high recovery.
For Leeds, this was just a warning of things to come.
Bruno Fernandes made it 3-0 before Swede Victor Lindelöf led the 4-0 from a corner. Cooper cut for Leeds before the break, but the white jerseys were severely punished even after the break.

Bielsa’s men are to be commended for continuing to fight, but they left plenty of room.
The speedy Daniel James, who had a rare opportunity early on, added 5-1, before Bruno added 6-1 on a penalty kick.
Stuart Dallas removed some salt from the open wound by hitting in a good reduction, but the magnificent long shot wasn’t enough for Leeds.
It was simply a leaden return to Old Trafford.
