After complete Norwegian dominance during the sprint and the start of the hunt at Hochfilzen, several of the Norwegian biathletes were thrown to the ground on Sunday.

Both tabloid Sturla Holm Lægreid and Johannes Thingnes Bø were in the battle for victory as part of a united quartet on their way to the last shot, but both fired with one and two arm blows, respectively.

The hidden talent of the biathlete comet: – It is a mental balm for me.

However, Tarjei Bø (32) fired full on the last shot and with good speed on the court launched into battle for third place. While Arnd Peiffer parked Martin Ponsiluoma in the battle for victory, Bø did the same in a duel with Benedikt Doll and Émilien Jacquelin.

With 19 of 20 hits, older brother Bø scored for the second podium of the season after winning the sprint at Kontiolahti in early December.

– Now it has loosened a bit and is delicious. I’ve changed the shooting position a bit and that makes it a little easier. And a little here, especially here, Bø told NRK and pointed to his own head according to NTB.

Lægreid entered sixth place ahead of Thingnes Bø in seventh. Like the start of the hunt on Saturday, it was the standing shoot that ruined little brother Bø. That he went at a breakneck pace to catch up with the opponents on the last shot may have been decisive for Thingnes Bø, who is unsurprising that he had the best cross-country time in the joint outing.

He still holds the World Cup leadership ahead of Lægreid and Sweden’s Sebastian Samuelsson.
