Liverpool was coming off a very important victory against Tottenham, and came out at full speed from the start against Crystal Palace. Takumi Minamino started his career cautiously in Merseyside, but after three minutes at Selhurst Park he slowed down.

Sadio Mané delivered a solid preparation and found the Japanese on the field. Minamino was not wrong and put Liverpool ahead.

Midway through the half, it was the home team that had a great chance to equalize, when Jordan Ayew was played and tried to find Wilfried Zaha in front of goal.

Unfortunately for the locals, the pass was imprecise and ended at the feet of Jordan Henderson. Minutes later, it was Ayew again who had the chance, but the header was weak and Alisson had good control.

Splendid score from Mané

However, ten minutes before the break, it was the guests who had to double their lead. Roberto Firmino picked up a fumble and played through Sadio Mané. The Senegalese rejected his defender and made it 2-0 in cash.

– That finale has ended Mané’s class, and Liverpool is deadly effective, said TV2 expert commentator Nils Johan Semb.

Liverpool did not end there. Andy Robertson started up with the turbo and started a counterattack pattern. Robertson had two or three men with him and found Firmino in an excellent position. The Brazilian was frozen and arrived at Liverpool his third of the day.

– Fantastic from Robertson. He is one of the best left backs in the world and is aiming for another goal pass.

Totaldominans

Liverpool continued driving after the break, and a few minutes after the inning was back down. The Alexander-Arnold train found Captain Henderson, who with a single touch put Liverpool’s fourth in the 52nd minute.

Takumi Minamino had a wonderful opportunity to put Guaita on top of another goal in the 50th minute, but his shot went over the crossbar.

Roberto Firmino has had to endure criticism for his performances this season, but with 20 minutes to go he appeared again. Substitute Salah’s pass was good, but the touch and the shot were even better.

The Brazilian took the ball and scored the second of the day, with his left foot. 5-0.

– Many thought it would be a change of throne at the top of Liverpool after the achievements of Jota. But Firmino has really fought back, delivering two brilliant games in a row for Liverpool. This goal shows his qualities, fantastically done, says TV2’s Nils Johan Semb after the two goals against Crystal Palace.

Substitute Mohamed Salah would also appear on the scorers list, both once and twice. He headed first in the sixth of the match, before scoring a magnificent goal shortly after.

– They have played Crystal Palace off the field in all kinds of phases of the game. It was a total elimination, Semb said after Salah’s second goal.
