Celebrity gossip veteran Perez Hilton (42) has been permanently banned from TikTok after a war of words with Charli D’Amelio.

The news he recently shared on Twitter where he used the hashtag #FreePreze, among other things.

Hilton is a notorious celebrity journalist who signed up for TikTok in August 2019. He had 1.6 million followers. For the New York Times, Hilton says that TikTok helped him get through 2020.

– I’ve been very depressed this year and TikTok gave me something that I could look forward to every day, he says.

Several TikTok users have wanted to remove Hilton from the application, after he criticized the world’s largest tiktoker, Charli D’Amelio (16), for posting what he called “sexual” dance videos.

Fans started a signature campaign in hopes of remove him from the popular application. They thought Hilton looked “creepy” and that it is problematic for him to comment on the 16-year-old D’Amelio’s lifestyle and video.

Hilton believes it was pressure from TikTok’s big stars that led to it being banned, but this rejects the app. Hilton also criticized many other users and the reason it was banned, according to TikTok itself.

– We are obliged to maintain a positive environment in the application. Our policy applies to anyone and everything shared on TikTok, and we delete accounts that repeatedly violate our policy, writes one of TikTok’s spokespersons for the New York Times.
