YouTube confirmed on Twitter that it has received a large number of inquiries about problems accessing the video service. Google did the same.
According to Google’s status page, all services except Gmail will work again.
Shortly before 1pm Norwegian time, services began to struggle.
Users around the world reported problems with Gmail, Google Drive, Maps, Android Play Store and more, writes BBC.
According to the website downdetector.com, the number of reports of problems with Google services skyrocketed.
However, the Google search engine had no problems.
– We are aware of the problems with Gmail for most of our users. Those affected will not have access to Gmail, said in a statement from Google, writes BBC.
A Google spokesperson told the BBC that they were also unable to access their own email accounts.
In Gmail, most of the error messages referred to login and that the problem with YouTube was mainly about using the website and watching videos.
