Mike Tyson was known to make headlines in his successful boxing career, and now his former manager has revealed new stories about the legendary athlete.
The 54-year-old American is one of the greatest sports in history and helped increase interest in boxing in his day.
He also participated in one of the most talked about boxing matches of all time, when in a rematch against Evander Holyfield he bit his opponent’s ear a bit.
I received a check for 300 million.
Now, former Tyson manager Don King has recounted about the game scene in the book “Talking to the Goats: The Moments You Remember and the Stories You Never Heard” by sports reporter Jim Gray.
– The day before the game, I gave him a check for 300 million and asked him to stay out of trouble before the game the next day. Just keep calm, King is said to have told the heavyweight boxer.
Tyson is then said to have sat in his new Lamborghini and backed straight into a parking meter. He then allegedly got out of the car, threw the keys to a security guard, and handed the car over to him.

– The guard didn’t understand anything, but Tyson thought it gave him bad luck in the game. So the security guard got in the sports car and drove off, Gray writes later in the book.
Spent more than ten million in 90 minutes
The story does not end there. A few minutes later, the boxer’s manager had been notified that it was again an emergency and that again it was Tyson.
– You went to the Versace clothing store and spent more than $ 800,000 (about NKR 8 million) in a short time I remember he bought purple shoes and a yellow and orange scarf. He didn’t mind spending money. I tried to stop it.
So between the Lamborghini incident and the Versace purchase, Tyson is said to have burned more than ten million crowns in less than 90 minutes.
– Give me back the check I gave you, King should have told his client without much bothering the boxer.

Tyson is also said to have threatened King and Gray with life at some point in his career, because he thought the manager had stolen money from him.
– First he threatened us with life, before regaining consciousness and saying that he loved me before kissing me on the forehead. It was more disturbing that he kissed me than the threat itself, Gray writes in the book.
In November, Mike Tyson returned to the boxing ring against another boxing legend in Roy Jones Jr. The match ended in a draw and Tyson is said to have raised more than 75 million crowns in the comeback.
