Storm loves everything that goes on wheels, but it is a vehicle that he is most excited about.
– It started when my uncle bought a motorcycle. The fascination was great because it made a lot of noise and it was fast. So Storm wanted a motorcycle too, says mother Siri Steiro.
Siri found the Villakids website, which sold electric vehicles to children. There they had a red motorcycle that Storm liked.

The price was 1999 kroner and Storm used his savings on the motorcycle.
No motorcycle
– We ordered on April 19 and only in May I asked where it ended up, says Siri.
They told him it would arrive in two or three weeks, but the motorcycle did not arrive. Siri contacted again and was informed that delivery would begin in early June. In mid-June, he contacted again.
– Then I got the reply that they started delivering out of stock items from Wednesday, says Siri.
Siri and Storm waited almost another month, but no motorcycles arrived.
More than 20 complaints
Storm and Mom aren’t the only ones who have had challenges with Villakids. The Consumers Council has received 28 inquiries about the company.
– And we have more than 20 complaints inside, says the head of dialogue with the consumer Pia C. Høst.
– The complaints mainly concern that you have ordered and paid for an item that you have not received, says Høst.
Notice of collection for something they never received
When Siri and Storm got tired of waiting in July, they contacted the company. Then they were offered to choose another vehicle instead of the motorcycle. And Villakids had to pay the difference.
Storm then found a monster truck that they ordered, but it didn’t arrive either. Instead, there was a collection notice on this new car that Storm was going to receive as a replacement for the motorcycle. A bill that Villakids had said they would pay.
– Then I was surprised because it was a bill of more than 5000 crowns. And then I got really upset, because we had waited a long time for something not to come and then we got a debt collection notice. In any case, it didn’t hit a good floor with me, says Siri.
Offer of another new vehicle
He reconnects with the company and they offer him another vehicle, as the monster truck now also has a long delivery time.
When you don’t receive the item:
– If you have paid for an item and have not received it, you can give the seller a short additional time. There you can say that if you don’t receive the item within ten days, for example, then I don’t want the item. Then I want my money back, explains Pia C. Høst in the Consumer Council.
But if the seller after this still does not agree to return your money, you can use a card complaint, if you have paid by credit card.
– Then you can go to your bank and demand that they give you your money back, says Høst.
Card complaints can also be used if the business you purchased from goes bankrupt before you have received the products you have paid for.
– So I thought now is enough, says Siri.
Siri announced that they now wanted to get the money back and that the company would cancel the pickup on the Monster truck. This confirmed to the company that they should do so. But a month later, Siri receives a new email in which the company writes that they are having difficulty completing a refund and that the best they can offer is to send the item as soon as possible.
The company further writes that they will be closed soon.
Pay
TV 2 helps him communicate with Villakids regarding the Storm case, and soon after they eliminate debt collection. The company also reimburses the Storms savings.
Villakids CEO Bente Hansen confirms that the company is bankrupt. They will not ask for an interview, but will respond to an email:
“Unfortunately, we experienced long delays due to Corona. We are very sorry that several customers were not treated well enough in customer service. We are very sorry that Siri did not get help fast enough and that the debt collection and purchase they were not canceled at the agreed time when he called. “
Siri is very happy that Storm has her savings back, but it won’t be a new motorcycle right away.
– We will save the money, he concludes.
