They were the child stars of Christmas, get to know them now
“Christmas in Svingen”, “Christmas night in Blåfjell”, “Julekongen” and “Snøfall”. This is how the life of child stars turned out later. Do you recognize them?

Do you remember “Akaya” and “Bully Børre”? Or “Princess Fjellrose”? And the Christmas king “Kevin”?
– What do I remember best? When Børre was going to kiss me. It really was my first kiss, says Yvonne Johnsrud (25).
When “Christmas in the Swing” was an Advent calendar in 2006, she had the role of “Akaya”.
The 25-year-old moved from Oslo to Porsgrunn, where she is a nursing student.
– I thrive very well, I am in my third year, says Yvonne Johnsrud.
She thinks it’s okay to see “Jul i Svingen” today.
– There are many good memories. But now I realize that I’m a pretty bad actor, jokes Johnsrud.
Adrian Falch (26) was “the bully Børre.” He is also a student, and says he remembers the series with joy:
– I don’t want to say it’s embarrassing to watch the series today. I am quite proud. It’s a sweet series, he tells VG.
Ina Svenningdal (24) was “Åsa” and still works in film and theater. She also had a major role in “Shame”.
– I had a period where I thought it was a bit embarrassing to watch “Christmas in the Turn”. Now it’s been so long that I think it’s cozy.

Ane Viola Semb (25) had the lead role of “Princess Fjellrose” in “Christmas Night at Blåfjell”, which premiered before Christmas in 2009, when she was 14 years old. The film was a huge success and was seen by almost 400,000 in theaters. Two years later the sequel came.
– It was a great experience to be able to be on this film set. I remember feeling a great responsibility and that it was fun and educational.
– Was he often recognized afterwards?
– There were many who recognized me. Especially at home in Horten, of course, says Semb.

“It still happens that I get inquiries on social media from people who have seen the movie in the most incredible places in the world,” says Semb.
Today, the 25-year-old is an independent actor, based in Oslo and Paris. This fall she has spent her crown time in Horten, but after Christmas she will return to France.

The Christmas calendar is becoming less popular
– I studied acting in Paris. I have become very fond of the city and thrive very well, says Semb.
– Do you have any advice for others who dream of becoming an actor?
– Join the amateur theater. It is fun and educational. I really enjoyed it at Horten. If this is your dream, just go in and give it a try, says Semb.

Vetle Q. Werring (20) had the role of “Kevin” in the Advent calendar “Christmas King” in 2012. Three years later he had the same role in the feature film.
– I was only 11 years old when we recorded the Christmas calendar. It didn’t feel like a calendar and it took a long time. But it was fun, says Werring.
This summer and fall, the 20-year-old has worked as a handyman at a hotel in Fosen in Trøndelag.
– I still have cinema and theater as a great hobby, but I don’t make a living from it. Now I will spend the next few months rethinking the field further. I’m not sure if it will be studies or more work, says Werren.
– Do they recognize you often?
– I am often recognized at Christmas. Then the children and adults leave and want to chat. It’s always nice, says Werring.
– Live a normal life
Siri Skjeggedal (15) was 11 years old when the “Snowfall” Advent calendar was first shown on NRK in 2016. Today she says it could be a bit tiring to be recognized as “Selma” right after. Today it doesn’t happen that often.

Christmas calendars on television
– My life today is quite normal. I don’t get much attention on the show anymore. But of course, it will be a little longer at Christmas, says Skjeggedal.
The 15-year-old is currently in the tenth grade at Ramstad school in Bærum.
The series took about a year to shoot. On the film set, it was his own teacher who made sure that the younger actors received regular education between recordings.
