A man cycling and jogging dressed in a Spiderman costume is constantly seen in Moss. The first observations came this summer, when he was often seen cycling in the Larkollen area.
Lately, the unknown superhero has been observed trotting over the Krapfoss Bridge, which was mentioned in Moss Avis. After the case was posted on the newspaper’s Facebook page, it came with comments, photos and videos of the man.
Now it has gained a cult status and people wonder terribly who is hiding behind the mask.
Are you a sports celebrity? A quarantined virus hunter? Juggler?
The answer may be all, or none, of those suggested.

Will offer a smile
After doing some research, Dagsavisen journalist Moss Dagblad got hold of the identity of the man behind the stunt. He currently wants to keep his identity hidden, but Dagsavisen knows his identity.
– Why do you want to be anonymous?
– Now Spiderman is anonymous, so it is about hiding his identity. Even now that it has become a question of that, that’s the fun of it now, says “Spiderman.”
The suit was first donned in June, before a bike ride through Larkollen.
– I think it was a fun idea. It was a relatively spontaneous whim. But then it became fun to put it on for training. And I train really hard, I’m really devastated when I get home. So I use it to show that exercise can be fun, that it doesn’t always have to be so serious.
He says the philosophy behind the trick is simple.
– It’s just for fun. I thought if I think it’s funny, then maybe others will think it’s funny and. I just want to provoke a smile or a laugh. If they laugh at me or me, it’s the same. Maybe it’s a bit of a cliché now in the current situation, but sometimes it’s okay with a laugh.
– But did you already have the suit lying around, when did you come up with the idea?
– I made the suit myself, because all superheroes do it, he says with a twinkle in his eyes.

Surprising attention
He says he was surprised to see the case in the local newspapers now.
– I’ve been pedaling with this suit since June. Then I do two jogs, and it becomes a matter of that, he laughs.
– It took me a while, this here.
– But why exactly was it Spiderman and not Batman, for example?
– It is because the suit is very well known and striking. Everyone has a relationship with him from pop culture. Batman could have been a bit difficult to handle, due to the coat.
– What kind of reactions do you get from people when you exercise?
– They are mostly gestures, like pretending to shoot the net out of the wrists. Also, there are a lot of thumbs up and waving. It is fun and very enjoyable. It also happens that people take their cell phones and movies.
– Children are not afraid, then?
– No, they are more perplexed, laugh.
– Do you talk to people when you’re out?
– I must be “The Friendly Neighborhood Spiderman.” With great strength comes great responsibility, says “Spiderman,” who read Spiderman magazines when he was little and has seen all the movies.
– But I don’t talk to people, especially because I have music in my ear and it’s awkward to pick up the phone and turn it off. Also, I probably haven’t heard of anyone trying to talk to me, but in that case I haven’t answered that I’m stupid or superior. And when I ride my bike, it goes too fast.

Fake spider men
After more and more people wonder who is hiding inside the suit, there has also been more speculation about whether there is only one “Spiderman”, or if there are several.

– Yeah, now people think it’s fun to guess who’s wearing the suit. And it has become a great motivation for me. Also, the Spiderman suit is suitable for training. It is thin, so in summer I only use it. In winter I have wool underneath. But it is wet, of course. And at first I thought that the mask would be a problem, but when I ride my bike it is not.
– Who knows if you are the real “Spiderman”?
– Only near family and friends. I think there is probably someone on the periphery who also has a suspicion.

– Why will there be a bit of Maskorama for this here now?
– Yes haha, it has also caught my attention, he laughs.
