– We started too late. It was a testament to strong team spirit to come back, but you can’t give a team a 3-0 lead and then hope to move on, Solskjær told BT Sport after the match.
– Of course it cannot be said that we were good enough, because we were not. But it was a difficult group. The big loss for us was away against Istanbul, that’s where we lost the points that we should have, Solskjær thinks.

Shock start

I had to avoid loss
Initially, United just had to avoid losing in this deal.

But just as the game was decided, the United team launched an offensive and created a new tension.
United got a reduction 10 minutes before regulation time when Bruno Fernandes safely put the ball into the goal from the penalty spot. And then just minutes later, Solskjær’s men had a new hope when Leipzig’s Ibrahima Konaté was system on the ball.
The final sprint was still too late.
United came to Tuesday’s game after the team managed to convert Saturday’s game against West Ham.
