Golf, Viktor Hovland | Hovland (23) won the second PGA victory of his career

Because before the 18th and last hole, the Norwegian equaled the American Aaron Wise, both at 19 under par.

Wise was the first out of the two, and when the 24-year-old missed his birdie putt, Hovland was able to secure the win when he went to birdie putt a few minutes later.

The Norwegian did so with great success, thus securing his second PGA title.

With that, he is the fifth European since 1945 to secure two PGA titles before age 24.

Seve Ballesteros, Roy Mcllroy, Sergio García and John Rahm are the other four who have done the same in the past.

Hovland is very happy with the victory. In an interview broadcast by Eurosport and GOLFTV, the 23-year-old says the following:

– I don’t feel very good in pressure situations. I was trembling towards the end. I thought I had lost it after the second shot on the 16th hole, but I made a fantastic pair there. I missed my putt on the 17th hole and knew I had to make a birdie on the 18th hole. Fortunately, it came in. I don’t feel comfortable in those situations at all

Former golf professionals Per Haugsrud and Henrik Bjørnstad announced Hovland’s victory at the Mayakoba Golf Classic at Eurosport on Sunday night.

– I have no words. They are bothering me. You have to quit, I can’t take it. Why do you have to make it so exciting? The big stars will make it so spectacular, Haugsrud tells VG after the win.

Lars Tjærnås, Viasat football expert, says he is not very knowledgeable about golf, but praises the great sporting achievement:

– We have a world star in golf. Viktor is completely ill, writes Jan-Erik Aalbu.
