Filming for the fourth season was already underway when Norway closed on March 12.
The film crew of Linn Therese Amundsen and Tale Kristine Skeidsvoll were unsure whether they were allowed to enter Ingebrigtsen as it was. So they got into the car and left Oslo.
– When we arrived we met Gjert outside the house. We start with a five meter rule, then we stop for a bit and negotiate. So they allowed us to get a little closer, and finally at the door, says Skeidsvoll.
When the team arrived, they were given an ultimatum, if they were to film they would not leave the house again. They simply had to move into the famous basement apartment where the children had previously lived.
For Gjert Ingebrigtsen, it was not a difficult choice.
– It was completely irrelevant that they came and filmed while living elsewhere.
Gjert provided the action. He took orders for snacks and left early when the stores opened.
Because the team was not allowed to meet anyone else, just go for a walk.
– We also send them to buy knitwear. Tone went to the hobby shop, but seemed a bit stressed by how tight it was there.

The family has almost unlimited trust in the film crew, according to Ingebrigtsen. This means that the film crew can see everything that happens in both sad and pleasant episodes.

Up close moments filmed
One Saturday night they were eating with the family, suddenly Jakob and Elisabeth came in with a puppy they had gotten.
– Then the camera was ready and we got situations that we would have otherwise missed.
But neither Gjert nor Tone were other people than during filming in previous seasons, even though they lived together in the same house.
– They were like themselves. The only difference was that Gjert cooked the egg for breakfast, rather than that we ate at a hotel, says Skeidsvoll.
They managed to sound the alarm in the house when they woke up to the family on Sunday morning. By Sunday, they sleep an extra hour. The guests in the basement hadn’t noticed.
Always ready
The Ingebrigtsen family is strongly affected by the coronary pandemic. Competitions have been canceled, training stays and trips have been canceled, or completely canceled than planned.

– But this is the perfect reality for Gjert. Now the world is as it has always been inside Gjert’s head. Infection everywhere, more or less acute crisis. He thrives and prospers.
Gjert Ingebrigtsen confirms that he always has a crisis plan in place.
– Children were taken out of school before it closed, and the whole family was detained before the pandemic hit.
The plan was to follow the family first until the Olympics, which should be this summer, but the agreement has been extended until next year’s Olympics.
– It is terribly hard to train and train, without knowing when we can go out and compete again. It’s like reading for a test without knowing when it is. But, we cannot complain, there are many who feel much worse, concludes Gjert Ingebrigtsen.
