The Norwegian Ski Federation wants the Tour de Ski to be held in one place, in the worst case two. Johannes Høsflot Klæbo signals the participation in the Tour if all the races take place in the same place.
Norway, Sweden and Finland have decided to abandon the remaining races of the World Cup before the New Year, because they feel the risk of infection is too great.
Friday was an emergency meeting.
– I was as ready as I could. I have said what we hope. Finland was also very clear and we agreed, says cross-country manager Espen Bjervig to VG.
To NTB he says:
– The FIS must take more responsibility and ensure that the organizers do what the infection control protocols dictate.

Espen Bjervig tells VG that “FIS must step into the ring and make sure that infection control protocols and national guidelines are followed.”
He also wants the Ski Tour to take place in one place:
– I really hope that the Ski Tour is in one place, but we can also live with two. The problem is being able to transport 42 people without close contact in addition to those who already live together.
Facing Adresseavisen, Johannes Høsflot Klæbo, who was the first to withdraw from the World Cup, signals a comeback if the Tour de Ski in January will be held in one place.

Bjervig admits that he is demanding for FIS:
– They cannot just decide that the race should move. This should be done in consultation with those who have been awarded the race. It is not just a matter of simply moving the gutters, as in biathlon. This is a significant difference, because the IBU international biathlon federation owns the events, while the FIS awards the races to individual nations, explains the cross-country manager.
