– The Christmas gift is a recognition that our employees have had a demanding employment situation for a long time with important restructuring processes and demands for efficiency. This, in turn, has increased labor pressure. At the same time, many have had an unsafe work situation. On top of all this, came the corona pandemic that has claimed many of our employees in all areas of the business, says press manager Kjell Solem at the Norwegian Public Road Administration in Gudbrandsdølen Dagningen.

The amount is within the salary framework for 2020 and what is established in the main state collective agreement.

The surprise of the employees has been great and many thought it was a joke.

– I have worked at the agency for 30 years, and this is the first time I remember receiving Christmas greetings. So the message was met with great applause, says Ingrid Sigridnes, chief union delegate of the 900 NTL, organized in the Norwegian Public Roads Administration.
