The case is being updated.
– We do our best without prohibiting the reduction of infection. The backdrop is the most dire situation since the pandemic hit the municipality, Mayor Ivar Vigdenes said at a news conference Friday afternoon. The municipality is now putting historically strict measures in place through Monday, November 16.
- All sporting and cultural events for both adults and children are canceled.
- The sports and swimming pavilions of the municipality will remain closed
- High school, all middle and elementary schools are on red alert
All the schools in the municipality are prepared for the control of red infections. People are asked to keep as much of themselves as possible with their loved ones, and should write who they have contact with.
On Friday, the municipality examined 200 people. 30 of them are students from Ole Vig Senior High School.
– We will get answers to the tests during the weekend. I’m excited about that, says municipal chief physician Leif Edvard Muruvik Vonen. These are all people who are family members, close contacts, or who have had contact with infected people in some other way.
On Wednesday, the municipality also had a press conference on the situation of the crown. Then they put in nine days of hard work to kill the virus. Among other things, the municipality asked people to avoid visits. Now the working day will be even stricter and will last until Monday, November 16. Ten days from now.
The nine-day workday
- Take a home office if your job allows it.
- Do not visit each other and avoid contact beyond your home as much as possible.
- Cancel adult activities. Children’s sports are an exception and are protected.
- Avoid public transportation, but wear a mask if you still have to wear it and the subway rule cannot be observed.
- Make a list of all the people you have known since October 30 and continue to do so in the future.
- When you are contacted by the infection control office, be careful and reach out to the people you have met so they know about this.
Changing minute by minute
At the press conference, municipal chief doctor Leif Edvard Muruvik was particularly concerned about the situation in Lånke, where the kindergarten was closed on Wednesday and the school was at the same time on red alert.
– The numbers change from five minutes to five minutes. We had quarantined 400. It was related to an outbreak of infection in Lånke. Now 328 are tested. No one has tested positive. The only employee who was diagnosed with coronary disease has not infected more. Most will come out of quarantine this afternoon, he said. Now they ask more about who they have been with. He is very happy that people write with whom he is.
– It is not so easy to remember who you have been with if you receive a phone call about it, he said and added:
– I have the suspicion that many are with many. Some are with too many, said the municipal chief.
The municipality has decided that all schools are at the level of red contagion control from Monday until next Monday, November 16. This means that the classes are divided into smaller groups. This, in turn, requires more teachers and more rooms. It may be relevant to homeschooling for some students, Vonen tells Adresseavisen.
It says the municipality now has eleven people in the process of interviewing and locating people who may be infected after contact with people who have already been diagnosed with the infection.
– Together we will kill the virus and prevent infection, said the head of the breeding agency, Ann Kristin Geving.
– This means that the working day continues. Kindergartens will still be on the yellow level. Everything will work out in the end, said the municipal parenting manager.
Mayor Ivar Vigdenes affirms that the situation is serious and that the municipality is adopting strict measures.

Tighter measures
– We want to be at the forefront. The goal is to end the virus so that we return to where we were fourteen days ago. We believe that a short period of strict measures will be better than a long period of more cautious measures.
18 have been diagnosed with an infection, three have been in the hospital and two are still in the hospital.
He said the municipality is initiating several strict measures. Among other things:
– The nine-day working day is extended from today to ten days until Monday, November 16. We stay home and alone and we are in the home office. Avoid public transportation. All institutions and the town hall are closed for visits. Everyone should keep lists of who they relate to. All sporting events will be canceled, swimming pools and sports halls will be closed, Vigdenes said at the press conference.
