Much has been written about Michael Schumacher (51) after sustaining a serious injury on the Alpine slope in 2013. The place was Méribel in the French Alps.
Few know the true state of the Formula 1 legend. But now his friend Jean Todt (74) arrives with new drops.
– His fight continues, together with the family and the doctors. I meet Michael on a regular basis. And we watch television together, Todt tells the Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf.

– If you follow the success of your son Mick? I do not want to talk about that. I don’t want to go into details, because it’s private, says Todt.
The 74-year-old is president of the FIA (Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile). He is one of the few who has met Schumacher in recent years. Since the accident on December 29, 2013, not a single new image of Schumacher has appeared. He suffered a severe brain injury after he crashed into a rock with his skis and hit his head.
Dead soccer star
Along with the German legend in Méribel was his son Mick. He has followed in his father’s footsteps and heads Formula 2.
– Mick is a young and talented driver. It is too early to say if he has the same talent as his father, Max Verstappen or Lewis Hamilton. We don’t know yet, Todt tells De Telegraaf.
The top of the FIA has been interviewed by Erik van Haren, who is the Formula 1 journalist for the Dutch newspaper. He even announced the interview on his own Twitter account on Saturday.

Todt sits on the “Keep Fighting” board. The organization is inspired by Schumacher, and the board also includes his wife Corinna, son Mick, and Formula 1 director Ross Brawn.
– He does an amazing job, says Todt about Schumacher’s wife.
– Together with the UN and the FIA, we have helped with helmets for young motorcyclists in developing countries. We always have Michael in mind for initiatives like this.
Schumacher held the record for victories in Formula 1. The number was 91, but was recently surpassed by Briton Lewis Hamilton. He became a world champion seven times.
Schumacher will be at the family home in Gland, Switzerland. He underwent two brain surgeries and was in an artificial coma for 189 days after the accident.

Just over a year ago, the newspaper Le Parisien wrote that Schumacher underwent stem cell treatment in Paris.
– All we know is that you have received a blood transfusion and stem cells have been added to your blood. It should have a positive effect on the whole body, including the brain, journalist Jean-Michel Decugis told BFMTV.
