Celtic 1-3 Milan
Of the three Norwegians who were to be in action during Thursday’s deal between Celtic and Milan, only Kristoffer Ajer played from the start in Glasgow. Mohamed Elyounoussi and Jens Petter Hauge started on the bench, but went into the second half. Both were to assume the main roles in the settlement.
Elyounoussi, who was substituted during the break, kindled hope for the home team in the fourth before the end. He then shot his goalkeeper Sandro Tonali and stabbed Ryan Christie’s corner kick into goal.
In extra time, Jens Petter Hauge scored his first goal for Milan. Alexis Saelemaekers played it free, passed Celtic midfielder Shane Duffy and put the cold ball into goal.
– I am very happy to have received my first goal. It came at a good time, because we were under pressure when Celtic were looking for a draw. The third goal ensured the victory and we are now in a good position, Hauge said after the match, that the away team won 3-1.

In Bodø, former Bodø / Glimt teammate Patrick Berg sat down and watched the game on television. He’s impressed by his teammate.

Ajer close to scoring
Celtic came into Thursday’s game with a desire to avenge this weekend’s atrocious loss to arch-rival Rangers. Milan came to Scotland full of confidence after beating Inter in the city of Milan. That match was decided by Zlatan Ibrahimovic with two goals.
However, the Swede lost the first match against Ajer. The 22-year-old was also eager to make his mark on the opposite end of the field. After just under five minutes, he advanced with his long divisions. The midfielder dropped the ball to Albian Ajeti. The shot from the edge was blocked in the last minute by Alessandro Romagnoli of the visiting team.

Ajer, who played the entire game for the home team, again scored as the leader in Celtic’s defense. On several occasions, the camera caught him giving instructions to his colleagues.
At the quarter of the start of the game, the guests took the lead. Samu Castillejo charged down the left and had a wonderful opportunity to score the tying goal for Rade Krunic, but the shot went wide off goal.

Folded just before break
The two teams followed each other until there were three minutes left to play. In that, Theo Hernández was scored for a hat trick! The Frenchman found Brahim Díaz on the pitch. The Spaniard, who is on loan from Real Madrid, dribbled past two men before placing the controlled ball in the far corner.
During the break, Celtic coach Neil Lennon replaced Elyounoussi with Stephen Welsh. The Norwegian welcomed the confidence by leading a reduction on a corner kick from the left quarter before the end.

Ten minutes before the end, Jens Petter Hauge reached his first Europa League game with Milan when he was replaced by striker Diaz.
With that, he became the fourth Norwegian to play for an Italian team in Europe, after Per Bredesen (Milan), John Carew and John Arne Riise (both from Roma). It was going to become a dream come true.
The former Bodø / Glimt player scored his first goal in the Milan jersey after another substitute, Alexis Saelemaekers, played it for free. The 21-year-old walked away from Celtic midfielder Shane Duffy and was very strong before putting the ball under control behind Vasilis Barkas.
